OVERVIEW

The Lyncoranne Angus team of Lynton and Dianne Pratt have been breeding commercial and stud Angus and Ultrablack cattle at ‘Tumbeelluwa’, their 1100 acre property, situated in the scenic  foothills of Cambridge Plateau, Northern NSW since the early 1990’s.

The Pratt's primary objective is to breed and produce 'eco friendly' premium beef holistically, with minimal impact on the environment and the wider community. The driving force behind their livestock and 'eco friendly' farm management methods, is their commitment to a unified synergy between cattle breeding and Biological/Holistic farming practices.

Major changes to their property management has been the emphasis on land stewardship, the incorporation of innovative pasture and livestock grazing

management practices and conservation protection. Increasing their economic

viability, whole farm sustainability and  the general well-being of their properties ecosystem.

Two decades of commercial breeding experience has been the groundwork for their HBR/APR strategic genetic selections, which is geared for the commercial producer

and domestic butcher markets. They guarantee their feeder calves are not fed feed containing unnatural, genetically modified organisms (GMO) and are totally hormone and antibiotic free. Instead concentrating heavily on their herds inherent phenotype, and well-balanced Estimated Breeding Values (EBV’s) for improvements in high

carcase performance, herd fertility, structural soundness/conformation, feed efficiency, quiet temperament and their livestock's general well-being.

Their property's native forest is selectively thinned and logged, producing accredited export power poles and quality timber species for the cabinetry and building industries.

Central to Lynton and Di's whole farm productivity initiative, is their determined effort to reduce their livestock's greenhouse emissions and increase their properties pasture soil and native forest's carbon sequestration levels.

The ‘Lyncoranne’ Angus/Ultrablack team rigorously practices methodologies from the MSA ‘paddock to the plate’ protocols,  to advance their products ‘meat eating quality’ and traceability within the food supply chain.
